Conway, SC – Atlantic Collegiate Academy Principal Mike Lorenz has been very busy interviewing and hiring staff for the new school, which will open for the 2023-24 academic year.

His most recent staff addition is of Grace Gavin as a data specialist for the school. Gavin joins the ACA staff from Coastal Carolina University where she served as Medical Records Manager and Compliance Coordinator within the student health services department.

“Grace will do a great job making sure all of our data in PowerSchool is correct and up to date,” Lorenz said. “She is a team player and is a great hire for ACA. We’re very excited to have her aboard the Armada.”

PowerSchool is used by schools across the country, allowing teachers, parents and students the ability to log in to a secure account from home, school or work in order to access assignments, grades, attendance information and more in real time.

Gavin has called Myrtle Beach home since 1998 and enjoys the beach, the warm weather and the tremendous growth and progress continuously taking place on the Grand Strand.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Petra Christian University in East Java, Indonesia, before arriving on the Grand Strand. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, Myrtle Beach, with an emphasis on Human Resources.

In addition to English, Gavin also speaks Dutch, German and Indonesian. She enjoys playing the piano and listening to classical music. Her casual reads are mostly about history, cultures, travels or health and wellness.

Having worked at Coastal Carolina University for almost five years, she found joy in working with students and is excited about being a part of the new Atlantic Collegiate Academy staff.

When not working, she loves spending time with her family and her Yorkipoo, Bella.
